KAY KINDERMAN is a death midwife, an artist, a caregiver, and deeply devoted to a life-long apprenticeship learning about death, dying and
grief. Her artistic background feeds her sense that we as humans deeply want to reconnect with ritual and meaningful ceremony around the death, dying and grief spaces. Kay's caregiving background also drew her to this work and through caregiving she came to know the
power of gentleness and centeredness in the face of the jagged and raw. She enjoys facilitating community conversations using the Death Cafe/death salon formats.  As a queer person Kay is also dedicated to
supporting the queer community through this work. Kay has completed the Nine Keys Death Midwifery Apprenticeship with Narinder Elizabeth Bazen. She lives with her partner and gentle greyhound in the Monadnock region. Currently Kay's deathwork is focused on learning body care at end of life, holding Living Funeral Ceremonies in the community, and facilitating death cafes.  The best way to reach her is through her website:  www.tenderjagged.com.

SANDY LAFLEUR's joy in life comes from connecting people.  A long time community organizer, she believes we are indeed greater than the sum of our parts. Sandy embraces the Folk in folk music, song and dance and is involved in creating community from the ground up. She has experienced the power of music first hand in hospice settings, playing her Appalachian dulcimer for friends and loved ones as they crossed the threshold.  In her work with Threshold Care, Sandy was instrumental in bringing the option for Green Burials to her town of Wilton.  She continues to educate others about this important, more environmentally sound option.

Besides providing music at bedside, Sandy has experience working with families to coordinate supports for the dying and the family, utilizing the skills of friends and family members who often want to help but do not know how. She can also serve as a conduit for information to relieve the immediate family of that task. After death, Sandy works to ensure that the wishes of the deceased and the family are respected. Sandy can be reached at 603-654-1245 or strumma@aol.com
